Austrian Patent Office AT12 454 U1 2012-05-15
Description "LAMP VERSION WITH TRANSPARENT PART WITH INTEGRATED LENS" The present invention relates to a lamp socket for lighting, in which one or more LED lamps are arranged.
The LED lamps are well known in the art, therefore, for the sake of brevity, their description is omitted; however, it is intended to recite some essential elements which will enable a better understanding of the context and scope of the invention.
The LED lamps are components that emit light that are particularly attractive from a technical point of view; They have small to very small dimensions, consume very little energy and have an extremely long life.
However, it is also known, as confirmed by all producers of LED lamps, that these favorable features in terms of consumption and life depend significantly on the operating temperatures.
Another disadvantage of the LED lamps is that they produce a light with a significantly diffuse emission field.
This limitation has discouraged producers from offering this type of lamp for "spot" applications, that is, wall mounted lamps for more concentrated illumination than the individual LED elements can offer.
However, numerous examples of "spot" lamps are known in which more than one LED element and preferably three LED elements are used, to which three corresponding lenses are assigned, to the light beam coming from a single LED Lamp is generated, expand.
This solution is known, for example, by the patents WO 2008/086665, US Pat. No. 7,396,146 and EP 1 950 491.
Although, in this way, the resulting light beam is significantly enhanced, that is, concentrated by the action of such lenses, this gain often proves to be insufficient to adequately illuminate relatively far-flung surfaces.
Another limitation to this type of lamp socket results from the fact that the use of individual lenses for optical amplification for the respective LED lamp brings the corresponding costs for the production of the lenses and their attachment; all of this, of course, adversely affects the final cost of the final product; this circumstance is highly undesirable in an extremely competitive industrial and technical environment.
Another disadvantage with these solutions is due to the fact that the depth or length dimension of such lamps is considerable; this is often unacceptable for applications where lamps need to be as shallow as possible in depth, so as not to obscure the illumination field by their presence.
A lamp holder for LED lamps is known from the patent WO 2004/070768 A2, which consists of a housing (12) for attachment to the mounting device of the lamp holder and a plurality of LED lamps, which are arranged in a curved course and be powered by two electrically conductive means, which consist of two elongated grooves of epoxy material, in which the two electrical terminals of each LED lamp are sunk and fixed.
Undoubtedly, this solution solves the problem of the depth dimension of the lamp socket; the presence of a single flat cover (14) which closes and completes the lampholder does not solve or mitigate the problem of controlling the distribution of the emitted light in any way in particular, unable to direct or amplify the light in any preferred direction.
From US Pat. No. 5,119,174 it is known to produce a lighting means for which LED lamps are used on a printed circuit board (PCB); In this embodiment, the light emitted by each LED lamp is replaced by a corresponding "cup-shaped" one. Reflected screen that surrounds the respective LED lamp.
Although this solution is effective in directing the emitted light, it is, however, because of the generation of each of the " cup shaped " Umbrellas elaborate; Moreover, it also shows some susceptibility due to the electrical conductors (16) mounted on the outside and in the exposed position above the respective lamps.
In addition, this solution requires that the light emitted by the individual LED lamps light is emitted directly to the outside, and does not allow a corresponding coloring of the light; Of course it would be possible to set up a suitable transparent element, but of course this would entail further costs.
From the US Pat. No. 5,301,063 a method is known which is suitable for producing a series of LED lamps with a plurality of lenses and mirrors which, combined in a corresponding manner, make common provision for the light flux emitted by each LED lamp focus.
This solution is obviously used to optimize the production of the LED diodes themselves by being made so that their light is emitted parallel to a base plate (base-plate 3), which must be flat and parallel to the mounting surface of the lamp row; However, this limitation presupposes that the light emitted by the LED lamp is still parallel to the mounting surface and therefore perpendicular to the end direction which the light should have.
To correspondingly polarize and re-align the emitted light rays, one or more reflective elements and associated optical lenses are used; Although this solution is effective, it is obviously of complex design with significantly higher costs.
In addition, this solution also requires the assembly of a transparent protective element at the end, which is not shown in that document.
It would therefore be desirable and the main object of the present invention to produce a lamp socket for LED lamps, which substantially reduces the disadvantages just described.
These and other objects, which will become apparent hereinafter from the description, are achieved by a lamp socket manufactured and operating in accordance with the appended claims.
The features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description, given by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of a lamp socket according to the invention ; Fig. 2 is a second exploded view of the lamp socket according to Figure 1 in another
Represents perspective; FIG. 3 shows a frontal plane external view of the lamp socket according to the invention; Fig. 4 is a planar side view of the lamp holder according to the invention as shown in Fig. 3; FIG. 5 shows a cross section of the lamp holder in the cross-sectional plane C-C of FIG. 3; FIG. Fig. 6 is a planar side exploded view (relative to Fig. 4 of the lamp holder of the invention); Fig. 7 is a planar side exploded view with respect to Fig. 6, but showing the tubes rotated 90 °; Fig. 8 is a partially transparent, perspective and schematically illustrated
View of part of the lamp socket according to the invention represents; Figure 9 is a schematic perspective symbol view of a cross section of an improved form of the invention; Figure 10 is a simplified view of Figure 9.
With reference to the figures, a lamp socket according to the invention comprises: a flat or preferably flat mounting frame 1 in a rectangular shape, suitable for carrying a plurality of LED lamps emitting respective light beams substantially perpendicular to the mounting frame 1, a cover member or a ceiling lamp 3 covering the LED lamps is connected to the frame 1 and substantially parallel to it.
As shown, the lamps 2 are along a straight line "X " arranged, which promotes heat dissipation and especially facilitates the construction of the parts which are connected to the lamp socket and described in detail below.
The mounting frame 1 is normally mounted on a flat surface, typically on a wall "P", as shown symbolically in Figures 1 and 4 by way of example.
The cover is attached to the frame 1, so that between the two forms a gap 4, which is shown in Figure 5.
The LED lamps 2 are arranged in the space 4 and fixed by means which will be explained in more detail below; the LED lamps 2 are connected in a technically well-known manner with corresponding lenses; However, according to an essential feature of the present invention, this function is not performed by individual respective lenses, but by a single lens element, which is produced in one piece with the cover 3, and in particular by a continuous relief 5 on the outer surface 33 of the cover 3 ,
The relief 5 therefore has a cylindrical outline, this term being understood to mean all possible cross-sections of the relief 5, which are parallel to one another and to the alignment line "X". vertical sectional planes are executed, are equal to each other, even if they are not necessarily shaped like a circular arc.
With particular reference to Figure 5, the relief 5 extends over the portion of the outer surface 33 of the element 3 over the entire length over which the lamps 2 are distributed, and is mounted in opposite position to the geometry in which the lamps 2 are distributed; therefore, the lamps 2 and the relief 5 are logically arranged on the opposite sides of the element 3, and the relief 5 is rectilinear.
Advantageously, the remaining part of the outer surface of the element 3 is substantially flat except for the part occupied by the relief 5.
In order to ensure a correct passage of the light from the LED lamps 2 through the element 3 to the outside, it is obvious that this must be made of transparent material, preferably of polycarbonate or an equivalent material (PER- 3/12
Austrian Patent Office AT12 454U1 2012-05-15 SPEX).
The invention just described in its basic characteristics allows a variety of useful improvements: a) Referring to Figure 2 (magnification) and Figure 9, a first improvement is that the cover member 3 is on the inside, that is has on the side facing the LED lamps 2, a first groove 6, in which the lamps 2 can be accommodated at least partially; Namely, this improvement makes it possible to use the minimum space requirement of the LED lamps to fit them, even partially, in the thickness of the cover 3, which must have a non-negligible thickness, since it also serves as a component; Namely, the frame 1 is made of a thin strip of aluminum or an equivalent material and therefore can not be used as a component).
In this way, the overall width of the lamp socket is reduced because a portion of the height of the lamps in the cover member 3 "masked " becomes.
B) The second improvement consists in the fact that the LED lamps 2 are mounted on a common and single support base 7, which of course is rectilinear.
Also for the base 7 can provide a similar measure, as described just for the lamps; therefore, referring again to Figs. 2 and 9, and also to Fig. 5, from the cover member 3, a second rectilinear groove 8 is provided which is wider than the first groove 7 and superimposed thereon; the second groove 8 must have a width "L " in order to receive the support base 7 in width, and preferably also has a height "h". have, so that the socket 7 can be completely inserted into the second groove 8.
The dimensions and geometry of the elements just described must be such that the side of the support base 7, when it is definitely housed in the second groove 8, is perfectly flush with the inner surface 10 (see Fig. 9) of the cover element 3 that is, in one plane completes.
C) A further improvement consists in the fact that at the height of the outer surface 33 of the cover 3, a per se known proximity switch or contact switch type "TOUCH CONTROL". is attached.
The purpose of the switch is of course to enable the switching on and off of the lamp; Advantageously, this device can also find room in the thickness of the cover 3; for this purpose, the electrical switch is connected to a printed circuit socket 14 which controls its function and is provided with corresponding terminals 14A for connection to an external supply circuit.
The base 14 is connected to a capacitive sensor 13, which is advantageously accommodated in a small niche, which is provided on a surface of the base 14, but not specifically shown here.
Essentially, the structural and functional configuration is defined so that the sensor 13 is " flush " with respect to one side of the socket. is positioned and forms part of it.
With particular reference to Figures 2 and 5, a recess 15 is also provided on the inner surface 10 of the cover member 3 which is adapted to receive both the socket 14 and the associated sensor 13 located on the outside.
At the height of the recess, more precisely at the level of the sensor 13, the thickness of the cover member 3 with a through opening 16 (Figure 1, 2, 3 and 4/12

Claims (12)
[1]
Austrian Patent Office AT12 454U1 2012-05-15 5), which allows direct access from the outside to the flat sensor 13, so that the user can turn the lamp on or off by only slightly touching the preferably central position of the cover 3. D) Advantageously, a course fixed button 18 is mounted above the sensor 13, whose path is limited by the spacer 22; this button allows the sensor to detect the proximity of a body that controls the switching on or off of the lamps, but without coming into contact with it, which, in view of its sensitivity and the advantage that the user from the outside no direct access to the probe or to the circuits of the socket, is extremely useful. E) A further improvement is achieved if: - the button is made of transparent material, - on the flat sensor 13, a through opening 19 is attached, at the height of the continuous Opening on the underlying base 14, a lamp 20, preferably an LED lamp, is attached, which can be controlled by the electronic circuit of the base. This configuration enables a user to instantly know the exact position of the control button under predetermined conditions, for example, when the lamp is turned off, that is, when all the LED lights are turned off. For example, when the lamp is off, the electronic control circuit installed in the socket 14 keeps the small lamp 20 on; Therefore, even in the dark, the user succeeds in making out the position of the sensor 13 in the middle of which is the lamp radiating a brightness which widens to the key 18, which transmits the brightness to the outside since it is transparent. It should also be noted that this solution is particularly useful because the key 18 may be colored arbitrarily, even in a different color than the cover 3; Namely, if the key 18 is provided together with the cover member 3 and therefore no through opening 16 would be present because useless, the key 18 would only be a part which is made in one piece with the element 3; therefore, there would be no possibility to provide a different color.
